Lake Louise
Tandem Mass
Spectrometry
Workshop
Lake Louise is one of the premier spots within Canada, noted for its exceptional beauty, serene mountain setting, as well as world-class skiing and hiking. It is one of Canada’s greatest attractions and the site chosen to host the annual Workshop on Tandem Mass Spectrometry.
The Lake Louise Workshop has been held each year since 1988, and it now operates as a not-for-profit organization, fully incorporated with officers, members and an organizing committee from different countries.
The Workshop provides a forum for sharing the latest MS/MS developments related to proteins, peptides, lipids, sugars, metabolites, environmental contaminants, novel instrumentation and methods, fundamentals and ion reaction dynamics, as well as many other topics.
Despite its location, the Lake Louise Workshop is not a Canadian enterprise. Our attendees come from all over the world, including the United States, Europe, Asia (and yes, there is a good number of Canadians as well).
The
Workshop
Organizations
The Canadian Society of Mass Spectrometry and the Lake Louise Workshop share the common goal of promoting mass spectrometry. However, the two organizations work independently, and they both rely on sponsorship from corporate partners. When a company supports CSMS they are not supporting the Lake Louise Workshop and vice versa. Both CSMS and the Workshop are highly appreciative of all the support they receive, and they will each continue to approach their industrial stakeholders for support.
Scientific Organizing
Committee
The scientific organizing committee is the corporate body of the workshop. It is composed of volunteers who have a vested interest in tandem mass spectrometry and is constituted of members from the global community of mass spectrometry. The current membership includes the following people and designations.
